Exact museum reproduction of a fine ancient Greek black figured
neck Amphora.(more information on Black figure pottery…)
Our Greek pottery items are handmade in Greece in a small family
workshop using natural quality materials, superb craftsmanship and
attention to detail. They are licensed and modeled after museum
pieces from all over the world and bear the lead seal of authenticity.
This amphora features on side A, harvesting of three olive trees.
A youth climbs the center tree and shakes its branches to harvest the
olives. Two other men beat the branches with sticks from below. The
olives fall to the ground, where they are collected by a youth with a
basket.
Side B, Chiron, the master Centaur greets Heracles who came to be
educated by Chiron.
About 500 BC. British Museum, London.
