Exact museum reproduction of a fine ancient Greek black figured
Hydria. (more information on Black figure pottery…)
Our Greek pottery items are handmade in Greece in a small family
workshop using natural quality materials, superb craftsmanship and
attention to detail. They are licensed and modeled after museum
pieces from all over the world and bear the lead seal of authenticity.
This hydria features the Abduction of Europe. Europa, the daughter
of the king of Phoenicia is carried by Zeus in the form of a bull to the
continent which later was named after her. Europa rides the bull to
the left. She is seated side-saddle on its back and grasps a horn
with her left hand.
