Macedonia rose from a small kingdom at the periphery of Classical Greek affairs, to one which came to dominate the entire Hellenic world, occurred under the reign of Philip II. Dated to 330 B.C, it is a characteristic Phrygian type helmet worn by the famous heavy infantry soldiers of the Macedonian army.
