Padre Pio, also known as Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (1887 – 1968), was a friar, priest, stigmatist, and mystic,now venerated as a saint of the Catholic Church.
Padre Pio became famous for exhibiting stigmata for most of his life, The Sanctuary of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina is located in San Giovanni Rotondo, Province of Foggia, Italy.
Made using traditional materials (selected aged timber frames, egg tempera, 24K gold leaf, natural powder paint and varnishes) and old techniques.
The icon bears the artist’s signature on the front and the seal of authenticity on the back.
